Buckles Safety Check
In order to always ensure the safety of our products we would like to ask all user to do the below described safety check.
Unfortunately, some pins used in the Releasebuckles on harnesses have been noted to lack fixation within the part, which can result in a malfunction of the buckle. This is due to an inconsistent production process in a certain batch.
Because it cannot be assured beyond doubt that the built quality conforms to the required standard, we have instigated a precautionary safety check for all Releasebuckle VI.
Please check your buckle before the next use.

In case you discover your pin to be loose, you can easily replace it by yourself. This manual explains how to replace the pin of your Buckle: Download Replacement Manual here
You may also follow the instructions for check and replacement as demonstrated in the two videos below.
In case you find your pins do be defective, you can also contact any ION Dealer of your choice for replacement of the pins. Please use the Dealer Finder to find the Dealer that suits you best. The Dealer will send you replacement pins free of charge. You may also go see dealer in person to have your pins exchanged.

Unfortunately, some aluminum hooks as well as stainless steel hooks from generation 1 used on the ION C-Bar have been notes to be prone to breakage. This can be due to non-conforming materials and an inconsistent production process in a certain batch.
Because it cannot be assured beyond doubt that the built quality conforms to the required strength, we have instigated a precautionary recall for all aluminum and stainless-steel hooks of generation 1.
“Is my hook affected?”
1. Affected are generation 1 aluminum hooks used on the ION C-Bar Hook/Slider 3.0. These are identified by their black color and having no continuous connection plate. Please see the pictures below.
2. Affected are generation 1 stainless steel hooks used on the ION C-Bar. These are identified by their metallic color and having one single stainless-steel bridge. Please see the pictures below.
Also note, that generation 2 aluminum hooks (identified by having a continuous connection plate) and generation 2 stainless steel hooks (identified by having two stainless steel bridges) are not affected by the recall. Please see the pictures below. Those updated versions feature a revised construction.
Please contact the dealer you purchased the product from for replacement.

In case you are not able to see your dealer in person, you will receive a new hook by postage. Please change the hook according to this manual.
